Salomé Voegelin, The Political Possibility of Sound: Fragments of Listening (2018)
"The inaudible is the possible impossible of this world. It is its sociopolitical horizon beyond which we pretend not see anything even once we start to hear it rumble. The ethics of this inaudible is an ethics of practice, the practice of listening out for what sounds too but we do not want to hear, in order to grant it access to the sphere of influence."
