Margaret Schedel, "Electronic Music and the Studio",收於 Nick Collins & Julio d'Escrivan (eds.), The Cambridge Companion to Electronic Music (2007, Cambridge University Press)
"Pierre Schaeffer is generally acknowledged as the first composer to create music with pre-recorded media: his sound collage Etude aux Chemins de Fer (1948) has a prominent place in most histories of electronic and computer music. These same histories tend to concentrate on the studios of Europe and North America, and indeed most electronic music studios are concentrated in these two continents. Yet this is most likely due to reporting bias, for the most dominant nations tend to control history."
